​Piedmont Area to Old Fourth Ward

This portion of the Beltline is mostly semi-shaded trail between Piedmont Park and Old Forth Ward neighborhood.

Pick up a vegan friendly dessert or coffee at Three Peaches Gelato and Coffee. Or, grab a hearty vegan smoothie at Arden’s Garden, an Atlanta-based family-owned smoothie chain with unique recipes.

Old Fourth Ward

O4W is a lively section with a huge variety of restaurants right along the Beltline Eastside Trail.

Absolutely stop off at Ponce City Market, O4W’s lively food hall with over 15 food stalls plus tons of other shopping. You can easily find a whole meal, treat, or drink here.

Directly opposite Ponce City Market, steps off the Beltline, is Rina Old 4th Ward and Dos Burros.

The cool thing about both is you can have a meal or beverage inside (yay AC) or on the patio where you can do some excellent people watching on the Beltline.

Either way, a quick stop off to grab a refreshment will have you back on the Beltline quickly.

For wine, Krogers has some solid deals on wine by the glass, which they sell directly out their window on a balcony overlooking the Beltline. You are likely to catch the sounds of live music from the trail or salsa dancing on Ponce City Market’s outdoor patio.

Lady Bird Grove & Mess Hall is hard to beat if you want atmosphere. It has indoor and outdoor seating and it feels like you’re kicking back at a National Park with its campy yellow umbrellas.

On the other hand, the cocktails at 12 Bar (top of Ponce Market) are perfect to enjoy in the speakeasy setting high above the Beltline. Make sure to set a reservation, though I’ve lucked out with a walk-in once or twice.

Elektra inside Forth Hotel in Historic Fourth Ward Park has upscale Mediterranean resort vibes and a good wine list. The sharable mezze platter is perfect for an evening with friends.

Heading south past Ladybird and under the North Highland Avenue Street Bridge is Inman Park. This is a scenic neighborhood spanning either side of the Beltline just south of Old Fourth Ward.

If you didn’t stop off at Ponce, Krog Street Market is a great spot for food hall eats. With around 10 food stall options you’ll find pretty much every type of food you might be craving.

For the best ambiance in Inman Park visit Brew Dog Atlanta. The brewery is an energetic hub for Atlanta’s 20 and 30-somethings on a given day of the week.

Also, their craft beer selection on tap is always in rotation, so you can try local or international favorites. The venue offers indoor and outdoor patio seating.

Jenni’s Splendid Ice Creams, directly next to Brew Dog, always has a line. And for good reason. Their artisanal, innovative flavors are famous, and well worth a try. The Inman Park Beltline location is the closest one if you live in the Inman Park area.

Restaurants Near Beltline: Where to Park

Parking is notoriously tough in Atlanta. In Piedmont Park you can try to find a spot in the neighborhoods along Monroe Drive NE. But, be careful for parking signs and know that spaces are limited.

Old Fourth Ward is easier for Parking. Find a side street west of the Beltline near Old Fourth Ward Historic Park. Glen Iris Drive NE and direct side streets generally have parking. Parking is free, but be aware of signage and parking restrictions on certain days.

Ladybird Grove and Mess Hall does have a free and paid parking lot, and the nearby neighborhoods offer limited parking.

Inman Park is similar to O4W. You may be able to find parking along Elizabeth Street NE or nearby neighborhoods.

Always watch out for parking restriction signs. Parking permissions can change depending on day and time.
