Atlanta in April: Festivals, Events, Concerts, and Sports Games
Atlanta Dogwood Festival
Dates: April 13 to 15, 2025
2025 marks the 89th year of this beloved annual event at Piedmont Park in Midtown Atlanta.
The Atlanta Dogwood Festival is all about celebrating Spring and the beautiful Dogwood trees you see across the park.
You’ll get to enjoy 2 stages of live music and a curated artist’s market. Outdoor festivals are a big part of Atlanta’s culture and this is one you won’t want to miss.
Inman Park Festival and Tour of Homes
Dates: April 25 to April 27, 2025
Inman Park was Atlanta’s first planned suburb established in 1880.
As one of the city’s most scenic neighborhoods I’m never surprised by how many people flock to the Inman Park Festival and Tour of Homes each year.
Walk through the arts and crafts market, listen to live music, dive into the beer and food trucks, and tour historic homes under the shade of tall trees.
Also, book your home tour tickets as early as possible; I waited too long last year and tickets were sold out before the event.
Atlanta Film Festival
Dates: April 24 to May 4, 2025
The Atlanta Film Festival is one of the longest running festivals in the South East US. And it’s not a surprise considering how Atlanta’s film industry is thriving.
The festival displays full length films and short films from new and established film makers.
Book your tickets in advance. Films are screened in multiple locations around the city like Plaza Theater and Tara Theater.
Earth Day Celebrations
Date: Throughout April, varies by event.
Atlanta is sometimes called the city in the trees and I think that is so fitting.
As an Atlanta resident, I love seeing how much Atlanta cares about nature.
Ready to get involved yourself? Celebrate Mother Earth with Earth Day events like Hands on Atlanta and The Atlanta Botanical Garden during April.
Fernbank Natural History Museum
Dates: April 11, 2025
Once a month Fernbank Museum lights up for Fernbank After Dark and in April the theme is Booze and Botanicals.
This event is absolutely as magical as it sounds.
During the totally immersive experience you’ll explore botanicals (and their use in cocktails) and stroll museum exhibits with drink in hand.
Atlanta Botanical Garden
Dates: Throughout April 2025.
The garden is one of my favorite places in the city.
In April, grab tickets for Atlanta Blooms!, Orchid Daze: Beauty and Light, or the Atlanta Haiku Festival.
Plan to spend a day at the gardens, and book a reservation at Longleaf Restaurant beside the Gardenhouse.
Atlanta Spring Wine Fest
Dates: April 12, 2025
Book yourself one of two sessions during the Atlanta Spring Wine Fest (afternoon 12 pm to 4 pm, or evening 6 pm to 10 pm).
The Festival is hosted in Old Fourth Ward Skate Park. During your session you’ll get access to 50+ beers and wines.
Live performances by musicians and DJs make a great backdrop to this lively daytime event that overlooks historic Old Fourth Ward neighborhood.

Panda Fest
Dates: April 4 to 6, 2025
Foodies have a lot to be excited about in Atlanta in April.
Panda Fest at Atlantic Station is one of the country’s largest outdoor food festivals, and a huge April event each year.
Book your tickets for access to tons of highly rated food vendors, experiential live entertainment, and markets all celebrating Asian culture!
Festival on Ponce
Dates: Spring Festival is April 5 to 6, 2025, Fall Festival is October 11 to 12, 2025
For all the laid back vibes add the Spring edition of Festival on Ponce to your list.
Savor local food and shop local artists set up across Olmsted Linear Park, all in celebration of the area’s artists and history.
This historic 45 acre park is nestled in one of my favorite neighborhoods in the city with picturesque homes all around.
ATL Blues Festival
Dates: April 6, 2025
ATL Blues Festival kicks off at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta each April.
This year features performances from famous Blues artists like King George, Theodis Ealy and many more.
If you’re in the mood for a soulful evening of music and storytelling, this is a can’t miss event.
Atlanta Braves Games
Dates: Throughout April 2025.
Catch an Atlanta Braves game at Truist Park this April!
This is the perfect place get right into Atlanta’s vibrant sports culture.
General admission is typically available up to the beginning of each game, so I can recommend this as a perfect last minute weekend activity (from personal experience).
Oakland Cemetery Events
Dates: Throughout April 2025.
Oakland Cemetery hosts tons of events in April. As one of Atlanta’s oldest public parks its a great spot to visit in Spring as everything turns green.
Slate time to pick up spring flowers from the plant sale, take an Oakland Tour, or hang at night for Illumine: Experience Oakland After Dark.
