Lagrange Art Museum
Tour Lagrange’s highly rated art museum and regional cultural hub at Lagrange Art Museum. The museum hosts rotating exhibits throughout the year. You’ll find everything from quilt exhibitions to the Lagrange Southeast Regional competition with over 100 artists on display.
The building’s history is also fascinating, and it is stunning from the outside. As a victorian era build, it served as the county jail, housed a newspaper, and was a furniture store. Beginning in the 1960’s the building has acted as an art hub for the community.
Set on the east end of the town’s square, its worth catching a glimpse of the architecture even if you don’t visit the art galleries.

Former Coca-Cola Bottling Plant
Lagrange played a big role in the history of Coca Cola (Atlanta can’t take all the glory!). The city is home to a former bottling plant that is now office building space. It is a cool stop for anyone who appreciates architecture. The building is in the art-modern style, and is located on 115 Broad Street. It was constructed in 1940 as a new bottling plant by George S. Cobb Sr. Super fun fact: Cobb Sr. was responsible for founding the Coca Cola bottling plant that is still going in West Point. The plant that is still in business operates in two time zones.
Callaway Memorial Tower
This is a great example of Lagrange’s fun history. Callaway Memorial Tower was constructed in 1929 as a tribute to the textile magnate Fuller E. Callaway (if it sounds familiar, the TopGolf Callaway brand is from the same family).
Another fun fact: The pattern on the Callaway Memorial Tower is a replica of St. Mark Square’s Campile in Venice, Italy. If you want to know a bit more about the rich history of the tower, visit Beacon Brewery Co. about 1 mile from the green. The tower is a relaxing place to walk around and even enjoy a picnic if the weather is nice.
Lafayette Square
Lafayette Square rests in the middle of Lagrange surrounded by and at its center is a stone statue paying tribute to the Revolutionary War hero Marquis de Lafayette. The square was named after Lafayette in the 1970’s. It is a popular destination for locals and visitors since its right at the center of the action in town.
Beyond the statue is a beautiful fountain, open lawn, and pretty views of surrounding buildings and shops. You can stroll to restaurants and the Troup County Archives & Legacy Museum from the square.
Hill & Dales Estate
The stunning Hill & Dales Estate was built in 1916 as the Callaway home. The grounds are home to a 13,000 square foot mansion and beautiful kept gardens. You can choose to tour the home and gardens, or simply the gardens if you want. The gardens are actually over 175 years old!
In fact, the gardens have a beautiful history of being cared for by the same person for many decades starting in 1841, and actually inspired Fuller E. Callaway to purchase the property and build his home there. It has been passed down through the Callaway family, who opened it to the public in the 1990s.
Bellevue Mansion
Bellevue Mansion is a National Historic Landmark, built by Senator Benjamin Harvey Hill. After Sen. Hill’s passing, the mansion was acquired by the Callaway Foundation and presented to the Lagrange Women’s Club. The home’s architectural style is Greek Revival, popular in the south from the 1830s on through the 1860s.
Historical figures like Confederate President Jefferson Davis were entertained here. You can visit the home for a tour and walk through rooms still furnished and decorated for their original era.

Shopping to Explore in Lagrange GA
Antique Shopping
You can find great antiques in Lagrange (and Georgia in general in my opinion). There are several antiques stores around Lafayette Square within easy walking or driving distance of one another. There are also antique markets further out from the square depending on what you are hunting for.
One of the cool things about stores here is that it’s possible to find treasures from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries on up to present day. Since the town is connected to Coca Cola’s legacy, you’ll spot lots of Coca Cola treasures among other antiquities.
Whether you’re in the market for one of a kind jewelry, art, or furniture, the shops will likely have some gems right up your alley.
As of 2025, here are some of the neat antiques shops located right around the square. They are all highly rated. Plus, you’ll be supporting local with your purchase.
Olde Red Door Antiques, Old Time Antiques, Bradley’s Antiques, R&B Vintage, Marketplace at Lafayette Square, Pretty Good Books.
