Day trip to Brasstown Bald and Sautee-Nacoochee, G Day trip to Brasstown Bald and Sautee-Nacoochee, Georgia. Brasstown Bald is the highest point in Georgia at 4,784 feet! You can take the 0.6 mile paved, steep trail from parking lot to summit. Sautee-Nacoochee is a great stopping point after. I had time to visit Sweetwater Coffeehouse, Old Sautee Store, Rustic Home Interiors, Lavender Cottage & Garden, and Butterfly Mornings & Wildflower Afternoons. What is the walking trail like?: It’s a 0.6 mile paved trail. Some parts are uneven, and it is steep the entire way up. I believe there is a shuttle option during park hours if you want to take a ride to the top. What are the facilities like?: There’s a large paved parking lot. The restrooms and office are shut at sunrise.
